We have had reports where users are unable to link cells as they are getting a Run Time Error 438 - object doesn’t support this property or method.

The message you are getting is not an issue with the VAT Filer software rather it is due to a change made by Microsoft where they now disable all Active X controls by default. You will need to enable all Active X settings within excel and this should resolve the issue for you. To do this close all open spreadsheets then open a new blank excel spreadsheet and then, depending on the version of excel you are running, click File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Active X Settings and tick Enable all controls. You need to close and reopen excel for the new setting to activate.
