We have had reports where users are running Office 2024 that when they try to link cells they are getting a Run Time Error 438 - object doesn’t support this property or method.

We have found that the default within Office 2024 is to disable Active X controls and this will be the cause of the error. If you open a blank Excel file and click File / Options / Trust Center / Trust Center Settings / Active X Controls you can change this to enable Active X and this should resolve the error when linking cells.
